Frequently asked questions

Which areas are supported?

Coverage is expanding county by county. Tap the ⓘ (info) button on the map to open Data Coverage and see what's available per county — parcels, zoning, ordinances, and assessments. If your area isn't covered yet, you'll see a message with a way to request it.

I searched an address and nothing came up.

If the location is in a county we don't cover yet, the app tells you and offers a “Contact Support” option to request it. If it's in a covered county and still didn't work, please send us the exact address.

Why does it ask for my location?

Location is used only to find the parcel you're standing on or looking at, and to center the map. It's used while the app is open and is not tracked in the background. Manage it in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → OrdinanceIQ.

Is the property / owner / value information accurate?

It comes from public government records (county/state GIS, assessors, FEMA, USGS, Census). OrdinanceIQ is a research tool — data can be out of date or imprecise and does not replace a professional survey, legal advice, or an official county determination. Always verify anything you rely on with the authoritative source.

How accurate is the Site Analysis (tree cover, slope, grading)?

Land cover and topography come from authoritative datasets (1 m high-resolution land cover where available, otherwise national 30 m data; USGS elevation). On very small lots the national data is approximate — the app labels confidence and resolution. Use it as a strong estimate, not a survey.

Can the AI assistant be wrong?

Yes. Answers are AI-generated from local ordinances and public data and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always verify important details with your county or jurisdiction.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to use the core features.

The owner name shown is mine / is wrong — can you remove it?

Owner and assessment information is public record sourced from government data; we don't originate it. Corrections must be made with the county/state record office. Contact us if you believe data is displayed in error.

How do I delete my data / exercise privacy rights?

See our Privacy Policy, or contact us.
